Mothers are allowed to transfer seven of the 105 days to the child's father, a so-called daddy quota. Single working mothers will get 120 days of paid leave. Mothers can opt to extend their leave for 30 extra unpaid days.
The bill also calls for employees getting paid maternity leave regardless of the number of pregnancies they have had. Under the old requirement, paid maternity leaves were allowed for up to four pregnancies. The bill has to be reconciled by the Senate and House before being sent to President Rodrigo Duterte.
