“At this point in time, Australia is getting it wrong and they should lead by example, they should actually value whistleblowers for who they are and what they are trying to do for society and not try to damage them — because then nobody else can speak out,” says Sylvain Mansotte, co-founder of Whispli, a whistleblower app.

The Australian Competition and Consumers Commission, Qantas and Save the Children are among local government agencies and companies that have subscribed to the app, allowing their respective employees to anonymously report information. An encryption feature protects the identities of whistleblowers who upload information.
