Fertility Risk High for Female Surgeons

Women surgeons are more than twice as likely as other women to encounter fertility issues stemming from having to work in operating rooms. So reports stuff.co.nz, citing a new study.

nurse 2019420 1920The study, conducted by researchers in Australia and the U.S., finds that radiation, surgical smoke, anesthetic gases and toxic substances may harm female surgeons’ chances of having a healthy baby. In New Zealand, 12% of surgeons are women.
