A survey of 380 workers and 300 human resources managers conducted on behalf of OfficeTeam, a staffing firm, found that 62% of firms allow for flexible scheduling and that 20% allow for reduced work hours on Fridays. That compares to 75% and 63% allowing for flex scheduling and reduced work hours on Fridays, respectively, in 2012.
Just under 30% of firms permit looser dress codes in the summer versus 57% from five years ago. Smart employers won’t be so strict on flexible scheduling and dress code, says Brandi Britton, a district president for OfficeTeam. "Letting employees modify their schedules, leave early on Fridays or dress more casually when it's hot out are easy ways to keep them loyal and engaged," Britton says.
