HR Plays Crucial Role in Safeguarding Remote Workers’ Data

Human resources should not defer entirely to the tech department when it comes to safeguarding the data of remote workers. So reports HR Technologist.

HR departments can serve as their companies' best defenses when it comes to guarding against cyberattacks, guest writer and former Google employee Ariel Hochstadt notes. Hochstadt, who served as global Gmail marketing manager while at the Internet giant, and founded vpnMentor, advocates for online privacy.

“HR should be working with upper management to ensure an intelligent and workable cybersecurity policy,” Hochstadt writes. “It’s up to you to bridge the knowledge gaps between different departments and the tech department. It's also on you to make sure all workers, including remote workers, are up to date with the company policy.”

HR teams also play a valuable role in looking for tech recruits, particularly cybersecurity experts, who can help their companies bolster their defenses.
