High Inflation Leaving 32% Of U.S. Workers Fretting Retirement

About one-third of U.S. workers are betting that after enduring two consecutive years of high inflation they will be unable to retire. So reports MFS Investment Management.

retirement hands 5708597 640The asset manager’s 2023 Global Retirement Survey also finds that 63% of workers don’t think their retirement savings will be enough and that they will have to continue working either fewer hours or at another job. Three-quarters of survey respondents say they need to put more away for retirement than they had originally planned, while 66% don’t think they can retire at the age they had hoped to.

The global online survey was conducted between March 22 and April 6 and includes insights from more than 4,000 adults, including 1,000 in the U.S., who at least work part-time or who are actively enrolled in retirement plans in the U.S., UK, Australia and Canada.
