Suit Alleges Female Police Recruits Subjected to Sexually Inappropriate Exams

Female police recruits for Nebraska’s State Patrol had to go through “medically unnecessary and sexually invasive” medical exams, a state trooper alleges in her federal lawsuit. So reports Omaha World-Herald

In her lawsuit, trooper Brienne Splittgerber also alleges that for nearly three years State Patrol leaders failed to sufficiently investigate the “outrageous” exams conducted by a male doctor of female genitals. Then these leaders tried to cover up the incidents, the lawsuit notes.

Splittgerber is seeking unspecified damages for creating a hostile workplace for female recruits and emotional distress. The State Patrol said it does not comment on lawsuits, but a lawyer for the group said the exams were “a hernia check” that is required for both men and women recruits.
