Korean-American Intel Employee Alleges Firm Favors Indian Workers

A Korean-American software engineer for Santa Clara-based Intel Corp. has alleged in a lawsuit against the firm that it favors workers of Indian origin over other employees. So reports Indica News.

The software engineer, Hoseong Ryu, contends Intel promotes employees of Indian origin who have no management experience as well as gives them additional vacation and leave time versus other employees. Ryu came to Intel in 2014 and alleges that during his own job interview, an interviewer of Indian descent who was part of a three-person panel suggested that Intel should not hire the married Korean father.

“It would be easier to hire a younger, unmarried Indian man,” the suit claims the Indian interviewer said. In the suit, Ryu also alleges that during his time working with Intel, people of Indian origin were heavily favored by management for hiring and promotions.
