Illinois Passes Pay Protection Law For Temporary/Day Workers  

Illinois has passed equal pay legislation that aims to lift the salaries of temporary and day workers. So reports The National Law Review.

Pritzker on August 4 and that became effective immediately “requires that the pay for temporary workers assigned to a third-party client for more than 90 days be equal to that of their directly hired employee counterparts,” the publication notes.

New Jersey passed similar legislation earlier this year. “Interestingly, the third-party client also must provide, upon request, ‘all necessary information’ concerning jobs, pay, and benefits of the comparable employees to allow the temporary worker agency to comply with the law,” the publication notes. “Failure to do so by the third-party client constitutes a violation subject to penalties under the law.”
