Poorly designed onboarding processes can stymie companies’ efforts to successfully recruit and retain talent, and the escalation of remote, hybrid work has made it more complicated for employers. Prior the pandemic, more than 33% of companies lacked a well-structured onboarding process.
Some steps managers can take to bolster their onboarding processes include setting clear goals and ways to measure success and getting other departments involved in the onboarding process beyond human resources. Another step is to ensure HR provides managers with the technology and tools to cut down on administrative tasks for new hires and focus more performance coaching and building connections.
