Blind Interviews Could Help Reduce Bias

Hiring Managers have a tendency to hire candidates with similar backgrounds to themselves, and this could prevent qualified candidates with non-traditional resumes from getting hired. So reports NPR.

To combat hiring bias, entrepreneur Petar Vujosevic founded GapJumpers, a website aimed at allowing candidates to complete tasks relevant to a job rather than sitting for an interview with a manager. The goal of GapJumpers is to allow candidates with work and educational backgrounds that may not be ideal on paper to have a better chance competing in the workforce. This could lead to a more diverse workforce, as well.
