Escort-Karaoke Bar Visit From 2014 Haunts Uber

Uber can’t seem to move past scandal with the recent revelation of a 2014 trip by male and female executives to a Korean karaoke bar. So reports USA Today.

CEO Travis Kalanick and his former girlfriend were with five Uber employees at a Seoul escort-karaoke bar. At the bar, women sat in a circle with a number pinned to their clothes, while four Uber managers selected specific women by calling out their number and sat with them, reports USA Today, citing The Information.

A female Uber marketing manager with the group reported the incident to human resources. Gabi Holzwarth, Kalanick's ex, said that Emil Michael, an Uber executive, recently told her to keep the details of the karaoke trip from reporters.

Uber and its HR department has been under fire since a former employee reported in February that her manager propositioned her for sex, as previously reported in PHRM.
