Supermarket Chain to Pay Employees $100 to Get COVID-19 Vax

Kroger is offering to pay a one-time $100 bonus to any of its 500,000 employees who get the COVID-19 vaccine. So reports CBS News.

hundred dollars money 2328715 640.jpegThe U.S.’s biggest supermarket chain, which is in 35 states, is betting that the financial incentive will nudge wary workers to get the shot. Proof of vaccination will have to be shown to employees’ respective human resources departments before they are paid. Employees who can’t get vaccinated because of medial or religious reasons can still get $100 if they take an educational and safety course.

“As we move into a new phase of the pandemic, we're increasing our investment to not only recognize our associates' contributions, but also encourage them to receive the COVID-19 vaccine as it becomes available to them to optimize their well-being as well as the community’s," said Tim Massa, Kroger's chief people officer, according to the article.
