More than 10% of men polled said that focusing on the the pay divide is not a major priority, according to a poll by International Women’s Day by Ipsos MORI and the Global Institute for Women’s Leadership (GIWL) at King’s College London. And while nearly 80% of all respondents said it was important to deal with wage disparities between men and women, almost 50% said this should not be a major focus during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The poll encompassed 20,520 people from Europe, the Americas, Asia and the Middle East. Support for narrowing the gender pay gap was strongest in Chile, South Africa and France, and weakest in Russia, the Netherlands and the United States.
