BlackRock Pledges to Support Employees After Complaints

The world’s largest asset manager is pledging to establish new support channels for its employees and to begin reviewing senior leaders’ conduct following a legal review that called out the firm for failing workers. So reports Reuters.

BlackrockBlackRock CEO Larry Fink counted himself among senior leader who would be subject to evaluation. The law firm of Paul, Weiss conducted the review, with partner Loretta Lynch, a former U.S. Attorney General, leading the effort.

The review came after BlackRock vowed in February to improve how it investigates racial and sexual harassment complaints after employees posted about their experiences on social media.

The law firm's review "highlighted things I wasn’t happy about,” Fink noted in a memo provided by a company spokesman to Reuters. “These included instances where people at BlackRock had experiences that did not meet what we all should expect of BlackRock.”
