Video Gaming Giant Prez, HR Head Leave Amid Gender Bias Suit

Activision Blizzard confirmed earlier this month that the executive who runs its Blizzard Entertainment unit and its senior human resources executive had left the California-based video gaming giant as it contends with a gender bias lawsuit. So reports The Washington Post.

Activision BlizzardBlizzard Entertainment president J. Allen Brack resigned August 3, the firm noted on its website. Jesse Meschuk, who had worked as Activision’s senior vice president for global HR, no longer works there, the company told The Post.

A July 20 suit filed by California’s Department of Fair Employment and Housing alleged that Blizzard’s male employees groped or harassed women in the workplace or at company events. The suit also calls out Brack for knowing about several incidents of the alleged abuse and claims he did not take action to address these concerns.

Jen Oneal and Mike Ybarra were named as Brack’s replacement and are serving as co-leaders.

“Both leaders are deeply committed to all of our employees; to the work ahead to ensure Blizzard is the safest, most welcoming workplace possible for women, and people of any gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or background; to upholding and reinforcing our values; and to rebuilding your trust,” Blizzard noted on its website. “With their many years of industry experience and deep commitment to integrity and inclusivity, Jen and Mike will lead Blizzard with care, compassion, and a dedication to excellence.”
