Amazon Ups Average Pay In U.S. to $18/Hour, Seeks 125,000 Hires  

Amazon is hiking up its average starting hourly U.S. pay to $18 and is scouting for an additional 125,000 warehouse and transportation employees. So reports Reuters.

AmazonThe hourly pay rate is up from $17 since May, and the e-commerce giant is handing out $3,000 signing bonuses, Dave Bozeman, vice president of Amazon Delivery Services, told Reuters. That is triple the signing bonus offered just four months earlier.

"It's a tight labor market, and we've seen some of that as the entire industry is seeing," Bozeman said.
