HR Pros Assess Impact Of COVID-19 Variant At Workplace

A majority of human resources professional, 56%, say that their organizations are not planning to implement extra protective measures to guard against the newest variant of Covid-19. So reports Society for Human Resource Management.

virus g9bbec8b65 640The December survey of HR professionals by SHRM also finds that 54% say their full workforce is back or has never left, while just 2% of those polled say their organization is thinking of shifting to remote operations because of the omicron variant. Twenty-four percent of the HR respondents say their organization is fairly or very concerned about omicron, while the same percentage of U.S. workers were fairly or very concerned about their hours being reduced.

“These results show a lot of employers have confidence in their efforts to protect the lives and livelihoods of their employees,” says Johnny C. Taylor, Jr., SHRM president and chief executive officer. “Employers have found what works for their organization—some with vaccine mandates and some without—and they're adapting to this new normal. Still, employers must remain vigilant and be prepared to initiate new protective measures and respond to employees' concerns as the pandemic evolves.”
