PA HR Head: I Was Suspended for Complaining About Receiving Inappropriate Texts  

A human resources director for the city of Reading in Pennsylvania says she was suspended a few days after she filed a federal complaint against a city official alleging that the official sent her lewd text messages. So reports WFMZ.

gavel 3577258 640 smallAida Acevedo submitted her complaint to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission noting that Mayor Eddie Moran's former special assistant sent her the inappropriate texts. Acevedo said she was retaliated against after reporting what happened and then suspended after she filed the EEOC complaint last month.

In an email response, a spokesman for the mayor said that in January they decided to place Acevedo on leave while it reviewed concerns that were not related to her EEOC complaint.
