Target to Boost Minimum Wage to As High As $24 Per Hour

Retail giant Target aims to lift its minimum wage to a much as $24 an hour this year. So reports NPR.

TargetThe current minimum wage for starting employees is $15 per hour, but workers will now be eligible to get paid anywhere from $15 to $24 an hour, depending on the local market, specific job role and other factors.

Target is also strengthening its health coverage with virtual physical therapy and acupuncture at no extra cost to employees as well as additional fertility benefits. Workers also will be able to tap into their 401(k) plans sooner.

Target workers unite, an independent group of company employees, however, says the “pay rate is probably exclusive for warehouse workers” and that the pay range could translate to lower wages for employees in the South.
