What Are the Top Languages Most Desired By Employers?  

The COVID-19 pandemic that led to remote work being the norm for many employees globally also led to an acceleration of an existing trend of more employers seeking recruits who can speak more than one language. So reports Employee Benefit News.

multilingual to learn ge35b57760 640After English, the top four languages desired by employers are Spanish, Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese), French and Portuguese. Currently, there are more than 1,700 bilingual remote job listings, which is 30% higher from February 2020, notes job search site FlexJobs.

“Speaking multiple languages is going to afford more job opportunities for job seekers,” says Daniele Saccardi, campaigns manager at language learning app Preply. “Nearly every industry we analyzed had openings in many positions that require knowledge of a second language—the more languages you speak, the more opportunities you have.”
