Shopify COO Kaz Nejatian also noted in the memo, which was obtained by CNN, that the firm would bring back meeting-free Wednesdays and allow for only a six-hour window on Thursdays for big meetings with more than 50 attendees.
Nejatian likened the move to “useful subtraction,” that would allow employees more free time. The company also noted that it will erase almost 10,000 events from its worker calendars, freeing up 76,500 hours.
“No one joined Shopify to sit in meetings,” Nejatian wrote in the memo.
