Boeing Targets HR In Plans to Cut 2,000 Jobs  

Despite Boeing’s announcement at the end of January that it plans to hire 10,000 this year, the company had bad news for non-union employees in its human resources and finance divisions. So reports The Seattle Times.

boeing“We expect about 2,000 reductions this year primarily in Finance and HR through a combination of attrition and layoffs,” Boeing noted earlier this month.

One-third of the 2,000 jobs will be outsourced to Bengaluru, India, while the remaining jobs will be eliminated as Boeing looks to cut down its finance and HR support services, Boeing spokesman Mike Friedman said.

“Over time, some of our corporate functions have grown quite large. And with that growth tends to come bureaucracy or disparate systems that are inefficient,” Friedman said. “So we’re streamlining.”
