AT&T Bids Farewell To HR Head Amid $8B Cost-Cutting Plan

The human resources head at AT&T and one of three women at the firm holding top executive positions will be leaving at the end of next month. So reports Bloomberg.

ATTAngela Santone’s approaching departure also comes as AT&T aims to wipe out thousands of jobs via an $8 billion cost-cutting plan. Santone came to AT&T in late 2019 and prior to that led the HR department at Turner, part of Time Warner.

During her time at AT&T, the company had eliminated many jobs, but for years stopped announcing these cuts and only released total employee numbers in its quarterly reports and filings. In July, AT&T announced that it was adding $2 billion on top of the $6 billion of targeted cost cuts over the next three years. The company has let go of 74,130 employees since the start of 2021, which amounted to 32% of it total workforce as of June 30.
