Mental Health Concerns, Costs Continue Rising In The Workplace  

Mental health remains an ongoing concern in the workplace, with 77% of large companies reporting the need to treat employees had increased this year, up from 44% who said the same last year. So reports Business Group on Health in a new survey.

mental health 2019924 640The survey also finds that 16% of large employers expect to see mental health needs rising in the future. Cancer, which the same group reported as the leading driver of healthcare costs for large employers last year, remains a top cost concern in the workplace.

“Our survey found that in 2024 and for the near future, employers will be acutely focused on addressing employees’ mental health needs while ensuring access and lowering cost barriers,” says Ellen Kelsay, president and CEO of Business Group on Health. “Companies will need to creatively and deftly navigate these and other challenges in the coming year, especially as they remain committed to providing high-quality health and well-being offerings while managing overall costs.”
