Mayor Daniella Levine Cava ordered the audit in August after it was discovered that Commissioner Roberto Gonzalez had been overpaid by about $34,000. It took eights month before that error came to light after the Miami Herald inquired about it. Five other commissioners had been underpaid about $8,000 over a five-month span.
Among the findings of the Nov. 9 audit report is that HR had a hard time analyzing some compensation data from the software system, called INFORMS, “because the payroll register report is only available as a PDF document, which makes it difficult to...perform comparative tests over multiple payroll cycles.”
