Top Firms Ditch Anachronistic ‘Human Resources’ Titles

Talking about people as “capital assets” has been the norm for centuries, but a number of top companies are rebranding their departments tasked with managing talent to reflect a more “people centric” perspective. So reports Forbes.

Titles like chief human resource officer are being replaced by chief people officer or chief talent officer, and some HR departments are shifting toward new names like “people divisions.”

Google, Walmart and Linkedin are a few of the companies noted as using more progressive titles. The op-ed also offers speculation that changing norms in HR practices could coincide with further departmental rebranding and those changes may mutually augment each other.
