It is also breaking tradition with its yearly United 100 Award, which is typically given out to 100 employees, by naming all 67,000 workers as award winners for what the company calls “above and beyond” service.

Most employees will receive their bonuses November 19, said Scott Kirby, United Airlines CEO.

“The pandemic tested us all like never before, but your perseverance, commitment and hard work are the things that really helped United emerge on the other side as a better, stronger airline,” Scott said in a surprise meeting with workers last month. “We appreciate the things you did to support our customers and one another during the crisis, and hope you find a way to put this extra cash to good use before the holidays.”
