National Pizza China Sued By Ex-Employee for Discrimination  

A Seattle, Washington-based pizza restaurant chain that had won praise for inclusive hiring is facing discrimination allegations by a black former employee. So reports Axios.

mod pizzaThe former employee, Trinity Campbell, alleges in her suit that MOD Pizza ignored her after she complained about her co-workers repeatedly belittling her with a racial slur or using demeaning language near her. Campbell’s suit notes that MOD “harmed [her] mental and emotional state” and at one point “she attempted suicide after” a manager “uttered this racial slur at work.”

Campbell alleges she was forced to resign because of her “toxic” space at work and because MOD Pizza’s did not take steps to address her concerns. MOD Pizza, which has more than 500 location nationwide, said late last month that it had no comment.
