CA Court Sides with Uber, Lyft In Deeming Drivers Independent Contractors  

Rideshare companies received a huge break last month after a California court ruled that they can treat their drivers as independent contractors instead of employees. So reports Reuters.

UberFor giants, such as Uber Technologies, Lyft and DoorDash, the ruling means that they will be free from some regulatory risks. While opponents of the ruling are likely to bring the case before the California Supreme Court, it could take months before that judicial body decides whether to hear it and more than a year to issue its own ruling.
