Disney CIO Leaves As Exec Leadership Revamp Continues

The Walt Disney Company said goodbye to another top executive this month with the entertainment giant having already laid off 7,000 employees as it revamps its operations. So reports CIO Dive.

disney mickey 1185754 1920Diane Jurgens joined Disney as CIO in October 2020. Her departure comes after Disney in April fired its chief human resources officer, Paul Richardson, without cause.

“We made important management changes and efficiency improvements to create a more cost-effective, coordinated and streamlined approach to our operations,” Bob Iger, CEO at Disney, said during an earnings call in August. Iger had been CEO at the company for 15 years before leaving in 2020. He rejoined as CEO in November of last year.

“We aggressively reduced costs across the enterprise, and we’re on track to exceed our initial goal of $5.5 billion in savings,” he said.
